The Chief Engineer/Architect may be called on to lead special projects or investigations into specific technology or solution issues and to shepherd research and piloting of new capabilities with
engineers and/or partner organizations as required
Responsibilities Include:
• Chief Engineer/Architect shall be the main technical focal point of the program efforts and projects (existing and future).
• This person shall act as the primary contractor resource capturing and communicating the overall use of the various technologies and program capabilities.
• They shall ensure all capabilities are kept current and evolve to meet the demands of the changing threat landscape and as directed by the COTR.
• The Chief Engineer/Architect should not be tied to any one project or technology, but rather be objective about existing and future capabilities and in making recommendations.
• In coordination with customer management staff and the PM, ensure compliance with all applicable customer and program management requirements for managing IT engineering projects.
• Represent the customer at relevant boards to gain approvals for new technology and shepherd projects through the necessary change management boards and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and processes.
• Maintain system baselines and configuration management items, including security event monitoring 'policies' in a manner determined and agreed to by the COTR and customer management staff.
• Ensure changes are made using an approval process agreed to in advance.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies and ensure that the customer's cyber defense protections are adequate and effective and make recommendations on the way forward.
• Participate in all technical meetings or discussions as deemed necessary by the COTR and/or designated customer Technical Team Lead.
• Other Cyber Defense Duties as assigned by COTR.
REQUIRED Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or other
closely related discipline. Master's degree and architect training preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in IT Architecture, Security
Engineering, Network Engineering with emphasis in systems design, implementation,
performance, and efficiency.
• Familiarity with System Development Lifecycle, Program Management, and process
methodology related to governance, management, engineering, and operations with experience in
supporting project activities at engineering and operations review boards.
• Experience in configuration management controls and use.
• Good Interpersonal, organizational, writing, communication, and briefing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
