Job Description:

Great opportunity to join this fast growing company as an Electrical Controls Engineer.  Position can be based out of either the northern VA area or Baltimore, MD.  The successful candidate will provides technical information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design requirements. Will also be responsible for troubleshooting engineering related installation problems and act as a liaison with the client and/or owner regarding the project process.  Good programming skills are essential. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Preparing 10 to 15 project proposals annually for individual projects with a value of $25,000 or more.
• Handling an annual project portfolio of 15-20 projects with a total value between $600,000 and $750,000.
• Preparing specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials and/or support services.
• Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, component products, and systems for Company projects.
• Operating computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks; e.g., preparing CAD drawings, and other documentation for system installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance & operational training.
• Directing and coordinating the construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and client/owner requirements.
• Inspecting completed installations and observing operations to ensure conformance to design and/or equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Job Requirements:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience for junior to mid-level up to 10 plus years for senior level installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial control systems.
Must have good programming skills.
Project experience as a Control Engineer preferred.
Prefer knowledge in either Water and Waste Water Treatment, Electrical Power Distribution, Industrial Drive Systems, Material Handling Systems, Product Packaging or Pharmaceutical Packaging.
Must be able to obtain security clearance if required.
EIT or ISA certifications preferred.
