Job Duties and Responsibilities Section

ManTech is seeking an experienced Risk Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a Government acquisition Program Executive Office (PEO) comprised of a multi-disciplinary, integrated team of Government and contractor personnel executing multiple, complex projects. The Risk Management SME is required to have experience as a risk manager with extensive system engineering experience with large complex systems, such as command, control, communication, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems. The Risk Management SME will function as a subject matter expert, requiring the significant relevant experience, education, and qualifications commensurate with that role.

General responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Identifying and assessing programmatic cost/schedule and technical risks; recommending mitigation solutions and their implementation strategies; and developing and tracking risk reduction metrics. Developing and implementing a Risk Management Program and associated policy that will support a center-of-excellence for systems engineering across multiple programs and organizations.

Providing subject matter expertise in risk management and implementation of risk mitigation approaches, including identification, documentation, analysis, and retiring of key technical and programmatic risks.
Developing and implementing risk management processes, and leading risk management activities to include the creation and administration of a Risk Review Board at both the program and enterprise levels.
Facilitating the discovery, analysis, mitigation strategy implementation, and reporting of full spectrum lifecycle risks.
Developing or using commercial software tools for risk register management.

Qualifications Section

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of risk management and demonstrated implementation experience. This position also requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment and effective decision-making, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Demonstrated experience with system architectures and life cycle system engineering.

At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or systems engineering; advanced degree desired
At minimum, 10-12 years direct, relevant experience serving as a Risk Management SME in a complex environment, preferably on a technical system development and/or technology deployment project.
Demonstrated technical expertise with management leadership to research, plan, organize, and prioritize.
Superior customer interfacing skills at senior levels of management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical.
Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility and a favorable background investigation conducted within the last five years.
Ability to obtain a Customs and Border Protection or Department of Homeland Security Background Investigation. A current one is strongly desired.
