Product and Engineering Specialist
Job Location: US-SC-Greenville
Job Description:
I. Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position? Conducts the planning of launch activities such as process stability and product engineering for Paint Shop department. This includes development and scheduling, and communication of engineering activities pertaining to new projects. Drives project evaluations related to feasibility studies as requested by Central Technologies and external departments. Administers projects involving process equipment. II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives. - Acts as main contact point for Design and Central Technologies (Paint, Body, Assembly) for questions and open points relating to Corrosion concerns. - Produces and reports special evaluations such as review of paintability process. - Initiates, manages and communicates engineering changes to drive project completion. - Develops specialized consumable parts through the Central Planning group and through external suppliers that are used to process units within TS-3 (e.g. masking plugs). - Creates and implements process work instructions / process sheets / scope of works and model specific A.O.'s. - Trains associates on new processes and communicates and assures document updates are implemented for subsequent changes that affect the process areas. - Provides technical expertise to the pre-production new model introduction team. - Represents the Paint Shop in the various core teams and communicates the Paint Shop related issues back to all affected work groups. - Administers engineering changes and / or model year change packages related to plant projects. - Works with structural planners to ensure paint shop specifications are followed. - Reports project status to management. - Performs other duties as assigned by management.

B) Experience: 4+ years of related Paint Shop experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience in the Paint Shop process technology
C) Training: As applicable, training guidelines. Eligible to participate in Vehicle Administration program Work Location/Shift: (If > 1 location, indicate % of time spent at each location.)
